Graduation :) 'n stuff

Graduation:
Josh graduated on the 5th of May.  He had a fun semester that was pretty busy until about 2 or 3 weeks before the end of the semester.  All of his final projects were due in the middle of April so other than one online "google open" final and a 3 page paper he was free and clear.  On a side note this semester was funny because the class he was most excited about was the class he disliked the most and the class he was sure that he wouldn't like as much became his favorite, isn't it funny how life works sometimes.  Joshua's parents and sister came up the Friday before he graduated starting 9 days of fun.  There were bike rides, hikes, and family dinners.  The hike Joshua has dubbed his "graduation hike" wasn't a sure thing, was twice as long as planned, and, according to Josh, "definitely worth it."  Josh and his dad started out and planned for 3-4 hour hike up Dry Canyon.  First they had to go farther than Joshua had been before (we've done it twice and made it to the same point each time:  once because of the snow and once because of cows), then they had to explore a little, then they went "just a little further", and then they realized where the trail was going.  Ending up in an 11 mile, 6 hour hike, haha.  But Josh loved it and had a blast.  I'm glad he was able to go.

Nieces:
Another exciting happening occurred while Joshua's family was here.  We now have 2 more nieces!  Olivia Rae and Grace Marie.  They are so cute!  Right now they're still in the NICU, but they're doing well.  We were able to see them on Monday evening through the window.  They are tiny and make Allen look big which is weird because other than family I'm used to people remarking on how small he is.

Packing:
In a nutshell, it's overrated.  We made the final decision on Monday to go ahead and pack up all of our stuff, which actually isn't all that much now that we've started, and head out of Cache Valley.  Haven't heard back from a job in Houston yet but we're still cautiously optimistic while planning on looking for jobs after we move.  We're headed to Sarah's parents home until we hear back from a job and head to wherever we'll be for the next few years.  We're just about finished packing and will be headed out Friday night or Saturday morning, wish us luck!

Allen:
He's had a lot of fun this past week although the first part wasn't as fun as the rest.  He went to the doctor for his well-baby check-up and is growing wonderfully.  He's 12 lbs 1 oz and 23 inches as of Monday afternoon.  The doctor was pretty funny when he said that Allen's height is "almost on the chart" for his age! But we don't mind, he's growing wonderfully even though he may be a tad short. :)  Allen wasn't rolling over on purpose when we went to the doctor but today he did!  Dad set him down for tummy time this morning while he was making breakfast.  Dad turned for a second to check on something, turned back around, and Allen was on his back!  Mom had to try again a little later just to make sure it wasn't a mistake and sure enough, not too long after being on his tummy Allen rolled over to his back.  We did it again later in the afternoon and got a video of him, it took him all of about 20 seconds to roll over.  Allen also enjoys "running" on Mom and Dad's laps.  We hold him up a little while he lifts up his legs and has a great time doing it.  Maybe Allen will be walking before he crawls, only time will tell.
